Icelander
I didn't realise
How much you had control of me
I'm just about to be, alone at sea
I want to find my way
I want to write everything
I can't believe you
I can't believe you
I'm waiting for the hour
To change to noon
It's going to be a Thursday
A Thursday too soon.
I captured all the fish
I could muster that morn
Thinking of a new land
A new land to the north
Your fingers bleed on harp strings
Your fingers look so sore
Is this you in black and white ?
When will i get the real colour ?
No more will I wait
No more will I wait
I have to leave tomorrow
Sold out to eye sight
Over miles and miles away
A dear old battered silver birch
Where there's a teacher
There's a base line
Looking for signs in the dirt
Looking for tracks in the wood
Looking for signs in the woodwork
Looking for tracks under hoods of leaves
Trying to tread carefully
Trying to walk without thinking
What's ageing doing to me?
What's ageing doing to you and me ?
What's ageing doing to you and me ?

Time Itself Disappears
Senses overloading
Memories overflowing
Time itself disappears
Sleeping on blackened pages
Golden rocks lining the shore
Pack your travelling pills
Do not lie dormant
Everything returns to the wind.

Did You Ever See Me?

Did You Ever See Me?
I know that i've been gone so long
But i know no other way
The one thing that saved me
Is the one thing that pushed you away
I cannot stop the dark clouds
What has flown over and what is now gone
Will we finish what we began
Will we pour each other away
Remembering how we forget
and forgetting things between us are not o.k.
Darkness sighs celestial rhymes
Cascading down in droves
Echoed out your troubled guise
Through the hole that's now in my boat
I hope that you can look back and
see we had good times, when we were together
Will we finish what we began
Will we pour each other away
Remember how we forget and
forgetting what it takes to walk away
Do you ever see me
Did you ever see me?

Palace Parade
This morning got me thinking
About the palace parade
The guardsmen and their horses
All but turned away
Stranded
My head caves
If i knew you were going
Leaving, empty days
Maybe I was thoughtless
Maybe unkind
Perhaps you needed more from me
But more you couldn't find
Stranded
In houses of glass
It's a dying call
That puts a hand back in a hand
Stranded
In a home without a heart
Slowly
You let your hurt die in my arms
This morning got me thinking
About the palace parade
The guardsmen and their horses
All but turned away.
